European club football's history is really a story of a handful of clubs establishing early dominance and everyone else spending decades trying to catch up. Real Madrid won the first five European Cups outright, from the competition's founding in 1955 through 1960, a run so dominant it effectively defined what winning the tournament was supposed to look like before most of the clubs who'd go on to challenge them had even entered. This A2 print traces the full seventy-plus years since then, from that opening Real Madrid stretch through the English dominance of the late 1970s and early 80s (Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa), the rebranding of the tournament into the Champions League in 1992, and the more recent era shaped by financial superpowers like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Real Madrid's second great dynasty under Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane.
Each circular composition in the print represents a single season's winner, reducing more than seven decades of shifting football power, tactical evolution, and genuine footballing drama to colour, geometry and pattern, a way of seeing the tournament's entire history at once rather than one final at a time.

Who’s Behind The Sense of Doubt ?
I’m Alejandro De Luna, the creator behind The Sense of Doubt; a solo studio in Madrid making wall art inspired by music, pop culture, and heritage. What began as a way to make sense of the records, places, and stories that shaped my life has grown into a visual archive that connects moods, history, and art.
I research, design, and hand-sign every piece myself in small batches, and today more than 10,000 art lovers in over 20 countries have my prints on their walls. People describe the work as “brilliantly researched,” “put together with great care,” and “a true labour of love.” That’s exactly what it is; no shortcuts, just me doing the work because I love it.
