Prince didn't so much have a career as run several overlapping ones: pop hitmaker, guitar virtuoso, one-man studio band, and for a stretch in the 90s, a symbol instead of a name. This print traces the whole arc, from For You (1978), the debut he wrote, played, arranged and produced entirely himself at 19, through the imperial run of 1999, Purple Rain, Parade and Sign o' the Times, into the prolific and often strange 90s catalogue, up to his final releases and the posthumous Welcome 2 America.

All 40 studio albums are here, alongside their key US singles, mapped chronologically so the scale of his output is genuinely visible in one piece, something that's hard to grasp scrolling a streaming back-catalogue. The print also tracks his shifting bands and monikers, including The Revolution, The New Power Generation, 3rdEyeGirl, and the years recording as The Artist Formerly Known As Prince, so the collaborators behind the records are as visible as the records themselves.
