Two large-format prints (A1) mapping the complete recorded output of Joy Division and New Order — from the earliest Warsaw recordings through World in Motion.

Designed and signed by Alejandro De Luna as a visual reference for collectors and completists.

Joy Division — Songwriting History (1977–1980)

A chronological reconstruction of Joy Division’s recorded work, from the earliest Warsaw-era material through Closer.

The print traces the development of the band’s catalogue across studio sessions, highlighting:

  • Unknown Pleasures and Closer in full
  • Standalone singles including “Transmission,” “Atmosphere,” and “Love Will Tear Us Apart”
  • Non-album recordings and alternate versions
  • The final 1980 sessions that lead directly into New Order
  • A curated selection of Ian Curtis’s favourite books and literary influences
  • Additional archival details embedded throughout the layout

Rather than a conventional discography, the design maps relationships between tracks, sessions, and releases—revealing how a relatively concise body of work became one of the most examined catalogues in post-punk, with tracks organised by recording session and release context.

New Order — Factory Years (1981–1990)

A structured overview of New Order’s output across the Factory Records era, from Movement through Technique and World in Motion.

The print includes:

  • All major albums: Movement, Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life, Brotherhood, Technique
  • Key singles and extended versions, including “Blue Monday,” “Temptation,” and “Bizarre Love Triangle”
  • Non-album tracks and B-sides central to the band’s evolution
  • The transition from post-punk to electronic production, visualised through the catalogue
  • Additional references and details integrated into the timeline, including Factory Records catalogue context

About the Design

This project was independently researched and designed by Alejandro De Luna.

Developed through an in-depth study of recording sessions, release histories, and the wider Factory Records ecosystem, these prints are intended as precise visual references, bringing structure and clarity to two of the most influential catalogues in modern music.

Who’s Behind The Sense of Doubt ?

I’m Alejandro De Luna, the creator behind The Sense of Doubt; a solo studio in Madrid making wall art inspired by music, pop culture, and heritage. What began as a way to make sense of the records, places, and stories that shaped my life has grown into a visual archive that connects moods, history, and art.

I research, design, and hand-sign every piece myself in small batches, and today more than 10,000 art lovers in over 20 countries have my prints on their walls. People describe the work as “brilliantly researched,” “put together with great care,” and “a true labour of love.” That’s exactly what it is; no shortcuts, just me doing the work because I love it.
