iggy & the stooges

Fat White Family review

★★★★★ This could either be the worst gig you’ve ever seen or the best music event in years.

Iggy pop

50 mins documenting the journey of the best band in American rock history, followed by the experimentalism with Bowie in Berlin…

Singer and guitarist, King Lemon – looking like a depraved version of Roger Daltrey´s outstanding years – and drummer, Vampire Joe, are nothing but loud and psych-garage madness full of cacophony and distortion. If you prefer comparisons? A gear of sound reminiscent of The Cramps, The Sonics, The Velvets and Iggy & The Stooges.

This is definitely the darkest album from The Smiths with Morrissey at his most depressing compared only to future songs like “Asleep”, “Heaven Knows I´m Miserable Know” and “Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me”.

This greasy and noisy sound in The Wytches is carried out mainly through the talent of Kristian Bell, vocalist and guitarist of this nauseating English trio. His voice could be the sound of Alex Turner, Lux Interior, Cobain and Daniel Johnston altogether and his guitar offers layers of psychedelic distortion filled with wild reverbs.
