This month, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of Oasis´ debut single; an essential track in the aftermath of Cobain´s suicide and the decline of grunge, it marked – along with the likes of Blur, Suede, The Verve or Pulp – the return of British music to a massive worldwide audience.

It has been more than 70 years since Woody Guthrie changed the direction of popular music when he used the singing voice, an acoustic guitar, and his sanity as a weapon to spread a mindset that slammed injustice and the disparities of an oppressive western society.

n Hard Rain – her last collection of reinterpretations – Jungr pays her respects (again) to the septuagenarian genius from Minnesota, Bob Dylan, and Canada´s dark bohemian wise baritone, Leonard Cohen.

Marissa Nadler does not mind being vulnerable and to show her more fragile side. Praised by critics but still overshadowed commercially since 2004, Nadler´s music is honest and comes from the darkest corners of the soul.
